In one sentence I can sum it up " Hell No its not!"
Its one thing for Soap stars to be under the microscope , be in the public eye but given the state of affairs that have gone on recently in soap communities I think this is an area of contention and where fans should really draw the line.
Corrie Star Kym Marsh knows only too well about what social media and the internet can do to cause undue stress to people. When someone stole her pics along with her daughters and a woman catfished some poor bloke who believed he was going on a date with Kym Marsh herself.

And its not just Kym who's fallen victim to people being shady , General Hospital Actors and Actressses have been bullied online, had death threats thrown at them and some even gossiped about Kelly Monaco's love life .
Matt Cohen who plays Griffin Monroe was told he should be fired from his job , and some other castmembers have been subjected to online bullies who don't know how to separate reality from fantasy.
At some point shouldn't fans take a step back and think " Maybe I shouldn't be posting their personal photos in fan groups"
Or Maybe I shouldn't be abusive to them and treat them like shit, they are after all regular people who act their asses off for a living.
After hearing Kym's story I believe that fans should post responsibly because they could have a law suit on their hands. That's what happened to Kym's identity thief.
Even more recently Jack P Shepherd's picture of him with his new squeeze was posted in a soap group , and the foolish woman who posted it asked what people thought of him splitting up with the mother of his child.
I totally get people wanting to discuss the show , and posting magazine covers which is absolutely fine. But when you start discussing their break ups with other people and they're happy with their new love drop it about their old relationship. There is a reason they aren't with the other person anymore and its not for us to discuss it period.
I find that highly inappropriate and wrong on so many levels, it shows disrespect to him and to his new lady love. Come to that when you're in a soap group you discuss the red carpet events, the shows and the awards they've won not their break ups.
Nor should fans post pictures of the stars children unless its at events they've participated in with their parents. I saw a woman post school photos of an actresses kids in a soap group and that is just not right.
What they do in their private lives, who they see is definitely none of our business. You have to stop and think should I really post this , cause they could see it and get pissed off.
Tabloids are disgusting and fans are easily led and sucked in to join the bandwagon, to gossip, maligne, and disrespect those that are just doing their job.
To those fans I say show some damn respect, if you were in their shoes would you want people to discuss you private personal business? I think not.
